Most of the internet assumes you have a 3D model. On a factory floor you usually have a broken component, a rough idea and a machine that is down. That is a perfectly good place to start, and it is how a large share of our work arrives.

Where to start
Four ways in, none of which need CAD
Pick whichever you already have. The first one is the best, but any of them is enough for us to give you an answer.
The broken part itself
The best possible starting point, even in pieces. We measure it with calipers, model it properly in CAD, and correct whatever made it fail in the first place. A part that snapped at a thin section gets a thicker section and a fillet.
Drop it at the lab, or send it by courier and we will return it with the new one.
A photo on WhatsApp
Put a steel rule or a vernier next to the part and photograph it square on, not at an angle. That single photo is usually enough for us to tell you whether printing is the right answer and roughly what it will cost.
Two minutes of your time, and you get an answer the same day.
A hand sketch with dimensions
Paper and pen is fine. Mark the dimensions that matter and, more importantly, tell us which ones are critical. We would rather know that one bore has to be 12 mm than guess and be wrong.
Photograph the sketch and send it. No CAD software involved anywhere.
A description of the problem
Sometimes there is no part yet. You need something that holds this while an operator does that. Describe the operation, send a photo of the bench, and we will design the fixture around it.
This is where printed tooling earns the most, and where nobody ever has a file.

Photo, sketch, sample or a description. WhatsApp is fastest, email works too.

We tell you if it will work
Same day, in plain language. This includes telling you when printing is the wrong answer, which happens often enough to be worth saying: a gear running against steel, a part that gets hot, or something you can buy off the shelf for less than we would charge to make it.

We measure and model it
Calipers, thread gauges and radius gauges against the sample. You get a manufacturing-ready CAD model, and you own it outright, STEP file included.

First article, then the batch
One part first so you can check it fits before committing to ten. If it needs adjusting, we adjust it. Once it fits, the file is locked and every reorder comes out the same.
Before you ask
The questions everyone asks, answered straight
- What does the modelling cost?
- Reverse engineering a straightforward part is ₹1,500 to ₹4,000 depending on how much geometry there is. Complex organic shapes or full assemblies cost more, and we tell you the figure before we start, not after. The full design rate card is published on the pricing page.
- Do I own the model afterwards?
- Yes, outright, including the editable STEP file. You paid for it. If you want to take it to another supplier next year, or modify it yourself, nothing stops you.
- Can you copy any part?
- We will not copy a part that is under a live patent or design registration, and we will not reproduce something carrying another company logo or branding. Replacement parts for machinery you own are ordinary maintenance work and we do them all day.
- How accurate is a copy?
- We hold ±0.20 mm or ±0.3%, whichever is larger. That is fine for guides, housings, guards, handles, brackets and most machine spares. It is not fine for a bearing seat or a precision gauge, and where a feature needs to be tighter than that we design in a machined insert or a pressed-in bush rather than pretend the plastic will hold it.
- Will a plastic copy be as strong as the original metal one?
- No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling. What plastic often is: strong enough, available on Thursday, and a tenth of the price. For a guard, a guide, a knob, a cover or a handle that is usually the better trade. For anything carrying real structural load, we will say so.
