The problem you are actually solving

Automotive is the application where material choice stops being a preference and becomes the whole decision. A parked car in Maharashtra in May reaches 60-70 °C inside; an engine bay goes far higher; an exterior part sees UV all year.

That environment eliminates PLA immediately, and most general print services default to PLA because it's easy. The part arrives, looks correct, and deforms within weeks.

Add vibration, which fatigues material and loosens fasteners, and you've a set of requirements that only a few filaments actually meet.

The questions automotive & ev customers actually ask

  • Can a printed part survive engine-bay temperatures?

    PA-CF holds to 120 °C and PC to 110 °C, which covers many under-hood locations but not all of them. An exhaust-adjacent bracket is beyond any filament we stock. Tell us the actual measured temperature at the mounting point and we'll tell you honestly whether printing is viable there.

  • What about vibration and fatigue?

    This is where nylon earns its price. PA-CF has the best fatigue life of anything we print, which is exactly what repeated vibration demands. Orientation matters more here than anywhere else. We print so the layer lines run along the load, not across it.

  • Are these parts road-legal or certified?

    No. We manufacture to your specification; we don't certify parts for road use, and nothing we print carries a homologation or safety approval. For anything safety-critical or regulated, printed parts are appropriate for prototyping and test fixtures, not for the vehicle.
